André Kertèsz was born in 1894 in Budapest and he died in New York in 1985. He lived in Paris from 1925 to 1936. Grand master of world photography he began to work in his native Hungary from 1912 to 1924 and continued his activity in Paris where he becomes a recognized photographer but faced with the rise of Nazism and anti-Semitism in Europe he decides to leave for New York.
